Labour relations - March 25, 2025 update

To the Lethbridge School Division Community,

We would like to share a joint update on the bargaining process from CUPE Local 290, 2843 and Lethbridge School Division. We will be returning to the negotiation table later this week to continue working towards an updated collective agreement. While there is still work to be done, we are all pleased to be resuming negotiations.

Out of respect to the bargaining process, we will not be providing further comment until after these negotiation sessions have occurred.

We appreciate your support and patience as we work through this important process.

CUPE Local 290 and 2843 are comprised of over 500 contracted and casual employees, including the following positions: Educational Assistants, Advanced Educational Support, Learning Commons Facilitators, Student Support Workers, Administrative Assistants, Administrative Support, Business Support, Head Caretakers, Caretakers, Labourers, Labourer supervisors and trades staff including journeyperson carpenters, plumbers and electricians.
