Update - September 3, 2025

The Alberta Labour Relations Board has certified the results of the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA – the provincial group responsible for negotiating with Alberta teachers) request for authority to lock teachers out, if necessary.
Please be assured, a lockout is legislated part of the bargaining process and is a common response to a strike vote. Even though TEBA has authorization for a lockout, this does not impact current operations for Lethbridge School Division.
In this context, a lockout can be considered if there are potential operational concerns in Division schools stemming from job action.
Schools are open and continue to operate, and we will provide updated information as it becomes available.
